For years, whispers have floated around about an alleged ego clash between two of Bollywood’s biggest stars—Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. But now, filmmaker Karan Johar has come forward to clear the air and shut down the gossip once and for all.
In a recent interview, Karan Johar dismissed the idea of any rivalry or tension between the two actors. “Everyone today is quite evolved and emotionally intelligent,” Karan said. “There is no ego in play. That kind of thinking feels outdated now. Neither of them carries that kind of energy.”
Karan also shared glimpses of the off-screen camaraderie between the two. Recalling moments of genuine friendship, he said, “I remember Ranveer coming over to my house after watching Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, and he shared his honest thoughts—it was a lovely gesture. Similarly, Ranbir gave me detailed feedback after watching Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. It just shows how much mutual respect there is.”
KJo further added that beyond films, their bond extends into personal territory. He mentioned spending time with both actors socially—shopping, chatting about life, and sharing feelings. “We’re more than just colleagues—we’re friends,” he said.
What’s Next for the Stars?
Ranbir Kapoor is currently gearing up for one of his most ambitious projects yet—Ramayana. The mythological drama is being produced by Namit Malhotra and Yash and will be released in two parts. Part one is slated for a Diwali 2026 release, followed by part two in Diwali 2027. The ensemble cast includes Yash, Sunny Deol, Sai Pallavi, Amitabh Bachchan, Lara Dutta, and others. Ranbir is also set to reunite with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal for Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is currently working on Dhurandhar and is also all set to headline Don 3, an action-packed reboot of the iconic franchise. Although announced in 2023, the film is yet to begin filming.
