NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore will soon return to Earth after an extended stay on the International Space Station (ISS). Their mission, initially short, was prolonged due to technical issues with Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft.
The Starliner, which brought them to the ISS on June 5, 2024, faced thruster malfunctions, making it unsafe for their return. NASA has now confirmed that they will return aboard SpaceX’s Crew-9 mission, launching on March 12, 2025.
Despite the delay, both astronauts continued their work aboard the ISS. They are eager to reunite with their families, marking the end of an unexpected but successful mission. Stay tuned for their much-awaited return!
